Grows about 6" per year. Very slow and that is why the name. Eventually it will not be baby but 20' big tree. I am not going see it though. Maybe 6' in 10 years? I have it for 3 years now.

Thank you Gg. Sorry about your Koster. I love that variety. Narrow, pyramidal conifer. I do see it in the gardens here but never in Garden centers. I would love to have one. I think Picea Pungens "Baby Blue" is originating from Canadian grower. There is one called "Baby Blue Eyes" in US but do not know how they differ.

Most Spruce trees are very slow growing, but that's perfect for a small garden and the color is outstanding; especially against the white snow. I would decorate it with small white Christmas lights.

Bathgate, good idea but:
1.) there is not snow on Vancouver Island,
2.) the little tree is too far from the house
3.) We are in Mexico over winter.
But you are right, I can use solar (?) to light the white Christmas lights and who cares about Christmas and snow (LOL). It would look pretty even in July.

lol! You won this argument.

LOL Bathgate. I will try the solar lights next year....Christmas in July :-) It will look pretty.
Do you put Christmas lights on your little spruce?

lol you remember. It's just getting big enough to support lights. Maybe I'll give it some solar lights this year. It's been through a lot. Good idea!
