It is Amy but I don't have a name for it.

The late colour is always more powerful somehow, final burst perhaps!

I think it might be a final burst Wildrose. I told Karen I thought it was The President but it flowers in the spring and again in September. Maybe I missed the spring flowering. Trouble is it suffers from mildrew. I had intended to cut it back as spraying it never works.

Reminds me Rhapsody, Linda. Little darker than this picture?.

I thought Rhapsody might be a bit too blue Klahanie yet some photos look spot on. I also think it might suffer from being on the south facing house wall.....lack of water.

I think it's Gypsy Queen Linda. Gorgeous!

Feed and water it well next spring and every week after that, and give it an anti-fungal spray every 10 days and hopefully it will do better. Even once a month would make a difference I think.

Yeh! It does look like Gypsy Queen. I think I let it dry out being next to the house even with all that rain. I fed it with tomato food as Monty Don advised and I sprayed it three times against mildrew. I will check pruning for Gypsy Queen and go for it. :0)
Thanks

No worries, it's a hard prune variety, so you can chop it right back.

Yes, I was pleased about that......clean slate. :0)

This is the Clematis we were discussing when you were here Karen. It is late flowering in Scotland. I wondered about Rasputin but it flowers from July and this is a September flower. What do you think?
