Siris sent me the seed for this one, the others flowered earlier in the year and I've been collecting seed from them today but this one decided to flower now!

You don't need to collect seed Simbad, seedlings will appear in the borders, a little rosette, rather like a coarse leaved Foxglove. Move, if you want to keep before the tap root develops too long.

Can't mistake those marvelous flowers... I love verbascum but have only three var. one of which is the wild thapsis. one is low growing called 'sixteen candles' and it's lovely, then another which is somewhere between the tall wild verbascum and the smaller 'sc'. (should keep better records, no time!) All are lemony/butter yellow. the flowers make me smile. If you can't locate them visually just close your eyes and listen for the buzz of the bees that monopolize the blooms! P.S. almost forgot... I will have to go out in the raging winds (dregs of Patricia) and take a picture of my delphinium re-blooming! It's almost November for heaven's sake!

Kathy I have a Southern Charm which look to be very similar I'm afraid I missed collecting the seed from it this year ,I did have several colours I don't know what happened to them I think sometimes they get crowded out by other shrubs / plants and then you forget where they are :o( If you have seed to spare it would be very welcome, Thanks x

Lori I've seen pictures of sixteen candles very pretty, I grow a couple of taller ones Banana Custard and Snow Maiden.
OK Amy I'll pop some seed in the post over the weekend :-)
I had a yellow one Dd never knew the name purple stamens it disappeared then popped up in an area were I'd been digging in some of my compost so seed must've survived! Forgot to collect seed and now it's gone again!!

Cut my spent flower heads back from the first flowering and I have new spikes too. Pretty isn't it, but large.
