I have several of these in my yard. This is one of the several which are flowering right now. Photo taken Oct. 27, 2015.

No, it's not fragrant. I got this plant originally from my same friend in Oakland. It grows well up there in the Bay Area. My original plant was planted up there in the ground in 1996 (I dug it out and moved it with me). I still have the original plant in the ground. It has a very large trunk.

I wonder when we will be seeing them for sale up here? Like in scoucal the Acanthecea family and relatives do pretty good in the bay area.
Are they fragrant?
