To rake or not to rake, that is the question?!

Hi Siris . . . I'm afraid I don't have the strength! But we have so many trees, that we won't worry about clearing the lawn until more have come down. Maybe OH will have a go at the weekend.

maybe the wind will come along and blow them up into a nice neat pile for you Sheila ,fingers crossed :o)

Your garden looks so nice. Thankless job, isnt it, I try and think of the benefits of composting them when I'm grimacing collecting them and I always seem to do it on a windy day which makes the job harder.

Don't they make good compost, but 2 years storage. I rake up next door's leaves, she is 20 years older than me. Not really altruistic, I compost them, and only 1 big bag.

Thankless but Therapeutic at times,Sheila..but you can have too much of a good thing..referring to a huge Sycamore which isn't ours, but we end up clearing all the leaves ! Ah well, like Siris, the neighbours are all older than us ! We collect at least 6 of those big builders bags full..which go in the wooded area behind our fence..:o)

Exactly what I'm hoping for, Amy!
Thanks Dawn and Sandra . . . we like the Sycamore (not so much the Ash) but both give us hundreds of seedlings which can be a pain.

Let the wind help you - hopefully!
I am going to use the lawn mower on ours when the ground dries out or should I say 'if' the ground dries out!

The Ash are a pain, I agree. Blimey Bloomer, that's alot of leaves.

Thanks Chris - OH mowed them this afternoon, and 'only' had to empty the catcher about eight times! The lawn did look great when he'd finished.
Bloomer has been working even harder . . . you are a good person, Sandra!
Your turn next Dawn - any day now, lol.

Can you run the lawn mower over the leaves to collect them up?
