6 ex battery chickens have moved in today. We have to old girls who pop out an egg every now and then but hopefully these girls will soon be laying. 4 weeks ago when they were rescued they had hardly any feathers but are already growing new ones.

Oh that's wonderful Sandra. I always buy free range eggs, I have never agreed with battery hens, it's so cruel. These hens will have a lovely life now with you and will no doubt reward you with nice fresh eggs.

I will be happier when they get all their feathers back...but they have settled in well today....last night I had to catch them one at a time to get them to bed....yes it was rather funny...but tonight I only had to catch one as the others tucked themselves up.
