Are they Cordyline trunks Sandra? I put some on the log-pile and the outer bark has gone soggy and rotted .....

I think some tallish grasses would look good in them. :o)

they are ash Shirley about a foot across...I think tall grass too. or maybe ferns...

Oak? If so,its highly sensitive to being kept wet. You could find a deep oval plastic pot and use it as a liner.

It would make a great bird feeder too.

I can see that..yes,with nothing done but some varnish...a nice garden decoration.

I will plastic line it Stan if it gets plants. I like the table idea BG. for the moment i am just enjoying looking at them...
