Monstera fruit. Ripe?

Anybody think I should pick? Its over a year old now..the stem has a bit of a change of color.
Maybe pick and use the banana in a bag trick? I dont want to pick too soon or too late. This is just the one I have.

Never even heard of this plant. Heed the warnings and don't make yourself ill.

I've had them rot before that happens- cool winter temps. I did have a few years in a warmer part of the property where they did ripen. About 20 years ago. I only remember they tasted sweet and syrupy. I don't remember a color change. Oh well.
Why did i move them ? We had the 1998 freeze and all leaves were killed and only big stems were left.
I just should have let them regrow there. I always over think things!

Also- They do grow crystals like broken glass to the taste. I read its the very same family of crystals found in unripe pineapples.
Monstera fruit and Pineapple fruit even resemble each other.

Do not eat unripe Stan, it will cause blistering, itching, swelling and pain......(but you probably know) I think it is good to eat when those hexagonal scales start to fall off.
They say that the best flavour is on the ninth day after picking.
I have seen them but have not tasted.
