And Tommies, self seed. I have several seeded into the grass. Since the lawn is so small, each year I try to get the bulbs out, as I would hate to mow over them.

Siris
Re crocus in lawns, in my garden grass is never cut very short and never until april so they cope quite well coming up year after year.Surprisingly Cyclamen Hederifolium also grows in the grass mind you I would not term it a lawn but the corms must be trodden on by Jamie and me.

I love crocus in lawns. No sign of my tommies yet though. I fear I must have dug most of them out when I put in the driveway border...or buried them under the pond spoil. Never mind..I'll plant some more for next spring. They are my favourite crocus. :)

By my definition, lawns are tidy green with stripes, grass is anything else. Mine is definitely grass! Love to see bulbs coming through in large expanses of grass, Snakeshead Fritillaries, wonderful.

No sign of our tommies.....but!! where did I put them lol

Species Tulips sound pretty, especially if they open the flowers flat in sunshine, like the Tommies.
