I love the big flowers and leaves.
Do you ever grow Streptocarpus hybrids? It's related to African Violets. I used to have many of them growing outside in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I've never grown them, but they look gorgeous. I'll have to look out for them...thanks

They're more hardy than African Violets. In the SF Bay Area I couldn't grow African Violets outside (not like here in San Diego). The flowers are bigger and bloom most of the year, also.l

That's hard to imagine. I just have a couple on my kitchen counter to get me through the winter. At least one is always in bloom.

Is it difficult to imagine growing it outside or with such large flowers?

I can't imagine them growing anywhere but on my kitchen counter top. That's the only place I've ever seen them.

Okay, now I understand. :>))
They are safer from bugs indoors!

That's true, and I can tidy them up with my morning coffee and a tiny pair of scissors.

That's the way to do it. :>))
