Thanks! This is only 1½" tall and wide. The species types aren't as large as the hybrid types.

No, and thats a big part of the attraction. The big hybrid ones are a bit 'false' looking to me. Much prefer something a little more 'demure'.

I had somebody on another board say the Azores never turn brown in summer. He also said summers are much warmer than Santa Barbara.
What do you make of his op?

Azorian summers are just like those in California. We get little rain (statistically July is the driest month, but August feels like it), so the grass turns very brown. The trees are drought resistant, so it looks green. But the soil is volcanic and very free draining, so my garden dries out fast and deep. It rarely gets above 27°C (80°F)
