Thanks Sue & Klahanie its not particular sheltered positioned in front of my summer house ,I do like to see these growing together ,Sue what you can see is a huge lump of flint well known for it in this area I often put a plant in the hole to tumble down the sides of the flint stone ,I have some big ones in my garden showing sea fossils you might like to look up Grimes Graves its interesting reading ...

I love the hardscape. I would consider adding a few more if you can find them.

Sue I'm so use to seeing the flints I almost forget they're there In fact this has made me appreciate them more , Paul I have quite a few larger flints piled up on my scree garden also in other spots around the garden ... we have a farmer friend who is wiling to give them to us he's not happy when the tractors hit them below the ground damaging the machinery some times bombs come up as well when the sugar beet is harvested ...

The daffs are marvellous. We have these too with the cyclamen. I've noticed the cyclamen have some new plants so I must pot them on. Lovely show Amy including the large boulder.

Lol Paul I'm serious my OH was an agronomist before retiring it was his job to advise farmers as a consultant on the best way to grow sugar beet without diseases etc. and then to ensure it reached the factory in good condition it is at the factory when the Sugar beet is washed off the lorries into the flumes where the bombs are detected ,the factory comes to a stand still while they are being removed they are Mortar Bombs about 18" long Sandra is right I'm pretty sure the P.O wouldn't allow one in the Post Lol... they are mostly unstable and rusty and taken away to be dealt with or blown up , Sandra Norfolk had more air-fields during the war than anywhere else in the country we were totally surrounded by them even small ones hidden in local woods ( am I giving away secrets here ,long since gone and over grown )we still have Lakenheath & Mildenhall which are operational American air-bases & Marham today fly Tornadoes to Syria , Shipdham up the road has many tales of Ghosts still to be seen and has a flying club today .
Anyway I went out this morning to take photos of my lumps of flint ,its pouring with rain I'll try to take some better pics another day I'm being taken out for dinner soon ,Yummy :o)

Not the Mortar Bombs Paul they were used in practice over the battle areas , whole villages were taken over by the ministry the families were sent away to live in other places Churches destroyed ,schools houses etc. they have never been allowed back they lost their homes ... it still is a battle area for practice you can hear the bombs and guns on a clear day ...

I recognise those names of Lakenheath and Mildenhall,Amy,but had forgotten about them ,but I do remember when we were on holiday many years ago,in Great Yarmouth, we had a few outings in Norfolk,and the noise of the jets flying over on training exercises,at one place we visited, were deafening! Would that be Reedham?

Those jets are a pain on nice sunny days Sandra but we know they are doing their job , Reedham is a village with a ferry crossing you have to pay the ferry man it only take about 3/4 cars at a time its a short cut with a very nice pub at the other side , no airstrip there tell Russell its a little bit to damp Lol ... Tony tells me there were approx 200 airfields in Norfolk at one time x

I think it was Reedham where we were,Amy,as Russ remembers the river,and us sitting outside having fish and chips..we seemed to be on the flight path,as they screamed overhead ..I thought they were after my chips ! Lol xx

Possibly,Amy..he said there was a bridge,but doesn't remember Swans..mind you. I am going back to either 1986/7,when we stayed at California Cliffs,near G.Yarmouth in a Caravan ! a lot of water has passed under that bridge since then :o) We toured around to a few places ..
