These are huge plants, and as soon as they drop a few seeds, I can take them out since they will die shortly after seed sets.

They self seed - a lot. It takes 2-3 years to bloom, but the leaves are huge, sometimes 12" across, and look spectacular. The plants are about 4' tall.

I have those also Wylie. They were hard to find then. Annie's Annual's had them.
If they pop up to fill a spot- fine.
It's been awhile ( a whiley?) since I've see a bloom. Very nice row there.

I got my original seeds from a company in Spain that specialized in seeds of Macaronesia and the Azores. I set aside a couple of spots I don't want to fuss with, and they have really taken over.

They dominate the areas they are allowed to grow freely in. I cope with the foliade, and then the flower heads explode and it can be difficult to get past them as the bumblebees love them.

Beautiful colour and shape Wylie. So do they self seed for next year or does it take a time for them to grow to this size?
