It is thanks to you that I decided to buy this plant for the pond. This water garden centre didnt stock stone lining. Still need to source the watercress, none in the supermarkets yet.

Thankyou! It's a very nice plant! I've not seen many places that do it! My local watergarden centre do sell it but not online unfortunately, some supermarkets have it in, some don't :) its trial and error

Oh I forgot to say about this plant, when it spreads across the surface it sends out lots of runners so it's very very easy to take cuttings off of it :)

I shall be taking cutting then.

Yes! I have done! It's also rooted into the gravel liner :) along with some creeping Jenny

I have duplicated this, the photo that is, not the plant yet.

It won't take long for the plant to double in size! Give it two or three weeks :)

Very pretty I have it in our small front pond but never made a note of its name.

I had never heard of it before seeing Dan's pic, nor heard of the Latin name before.

Dan you ought to get commission for recommendations. Still looking for the watercress. But it is a bit early in the season. Parsley, Corriander, plenty of that in the shops, just won't do in the pond, haha.

And my stone liner came today, but going to wait till the water level drops in the ponds a little, then pump it around the 3 ponds? Don't want to waste the rain water.

20 Apr, 2016

Yes! I just emptied half of my pond out today and filled with water butt rain water :)

20 Apr, 2016

Thanks Dan.

The gravel liner can go in with the water already in (my new pond was mostly full I think when I did it) you just have to push it flat against the pond side.

To cold to be messing about in water, will leave it till the weather warms up, then some photos.

23 Apr, 2016

Good idea :) I've bought some floating plants today for the pond (water lettuce, water hyacinths, and water chestnut) half are in the pond and half are in our greenhouse at the allotment incase we have any cold weather.

23 Apr, 2016

Will wait to see the plant photos in your pond, when warmer.

27 Apr, 2016

I've uploaded some already :)
