the ginger ones are warrens..best layers ever...these girls were battery chickens we rescued last autumn. they were exhausted with very few feathers but now they are rejuvenated. the other one is a blue bell huge eggs but she dont like winter!

Thanks Sandra, I'll put them in my "chicken portfolio" for when the time is ready to decide ? ?. I hadn't heard of either sort but as you say the bluebells lay huge eggs, I suppose that means they are big chickens, my garden is only small, so I'll probably go for smaller chucks.

Holidays can be a pain with animals HB. We are all off to a wedding in October so I have family from the other side coming to house/ pet/ plant sit...

awww.... love your chooks! Like M. I'm tempted too. Will have to do some more looking. We have a plethora of competing wildlife... owls down from the north, hawks raising broods along the ridges, foxes with kits, raccoons with kits, garter snakes, weasels, martins~ and then there's the winters! Plus the fact that I'm a marshmallow when it comes to hens, or any animal really, and they become pets. I'd be a terrible farmer. So I'll enjoy your chook posts, Sandra. Thanks! ;-)
