Janey the tree is actually several that grew up together. In fact there were a couple more spindlie trunks that were cut out a long while back. It is a maple tree.

When I moved in this house 27 years ago, there was a hospital and 6 other related buildings directly across the street. After the buildings were taken down the area has been mainly a green space, but just this past year it is starting to be developed as a housing area. So yes, after living with a hospital so close, it certainly is peaceful now.

I hope the new houses don't spoil your view too much. It looks beautiful.
