We had a lovely walk this morning in Allestree park and came across the bluebells all out. We also saw a young rabbit sitting on the grass near to the path where we were walking, then out came a stoat and chased the rabbit.

Beautiful scene, so spring like. Such a shame the coming week is going to be anything but spring like!

Hi DD We looked at the sweet baby rabbit and then the stoat ran from the hedge and chased it. Knew it was a stoat from the black end to it's tail. It's just a moment in time.
It's lovely to see the bluebells isn't it Wildrose. Our native bluebells are such a vivid blue.
Yes Waddy the spring is sprung....but the cold is coming....from the north....and I hope the baby birds will survive it.

So do I Linda the birds here have been very busy nesting recently.. I'm also concerned by the massive increase in the number of spanish bluebells. They are such a threat to our native variety and yet I still see some GC selling them.

Hi Waddy the Spanish Bluebell is less intense in colour than our native one and has fatter flowers. It would be a shame if the Spanish ones took over. I thought there was something said about digging up the Spanish ones because of cross pollination.... or have I got that wrong.

We are so lucky to have some really lovely wild flowers in this country. I love to see poppies in the fields and the flat shaped small white wild flowers on a tall stem but can't remember the name.
