I am pleased for you Amy, as they are quoted as disliking root disturbance.
You are too kind Dd, I do have some still left over from the division, but didn't think it was your sort of plant, let me know if you want some, when I next see you.

You are too kind everyone. I dislike throwing away plants, it is great to find new homes, and Gou members are so generous to me, I am a bit of a scrounge! I will think of you Amy, in a week or two, when I see Gingerbread flowering.
I do like your labels, how did you do the printing on them? They look quite permanent.

Sue I have a Brother GL-200 P-Touch Label Printer ,I've had it approx 2 years its brilliant I use it all the time for all sorts of things £ 19.00 inc. PO from Amazon not the most expensive but perfectly adequate for most jobs ,I label freezer plugs in the garage etc. ( Do not unplug ) to stop the boys pulling out plugs and forgetting to plug them back in ! I don't use 'Brother' replacement tape as its expensive I use a replacement compatible tape from a company called Eseller Direct ,I can give you the size you need if you ever buy one ... I hope this helps ! I'm looking forward to seeing the gingerbread in flower ,mines nowhere near ready yet ....

Thanks for the Info, Amy. Very professional looking, but I will just have continue writing my labels.

Siris both OH and myself love Dierama, have had so many in the garden, and they have never flowered for me.....yet in the Midlands they were a picture....
I must admit your labels do look professional Amy...will have to stick with our black ones....

Well done, Amy - I've never managed to get Diarama seed to germinate! DO hope it flowers for you :)

Amy, it is you who are kind. Have you seen Gingerbread Man, really happy, as am I.

Sheila - I've found Dierama germinates really well if left in the coldframe all winter.

Sheila and Meanie, these were corms from an established clump, which I originally grew from seed.

14 May, 2016

Siris - I'd worked that out from last years growth. I was just offering Sheila advice on how I germinate the seed. Good that yours clump though as mine just fade away once planted out! Do you grow yours in a moist spot?

14 May, 2016

My soil dries out on the surface very quickly, although there is a pan of clay about 2 spades depth down. I have never transplanted established corms easily, but this year have restarted above corms in a pot, and will plant out later and water well.

Siris - that's that theory out of the window then!

My plants are planted in full sun in a large bed crowded with other plants its often quite dry as there's a ditch behind with conifers and nut trees approx 20ft high taking the moisture .they do very well as you can see by my last years photos , Sue I'll keep these ones you kindly sent me in pots as you advise above to plant out later ,please tell me when its a good time .. thanks ..

Amy, I don't know the answer to that, although I will plant the whole pot full intact, with out disturbance to the roots. In the past have just put them straight back in after lifting and forgot about, no shoots ever reappeared. I have always grown from seed sown in pots and put in garden quite early in their life, but this clump was so congested it had virtually stopped flowering, hence the drastic action.
