Also known as Virginia Cowslip. Winner of RHS award of garden merit. Flower buds start off pink, then turn blue on nodding spiral-shaped cymes.

Never seen one before how tall do they grow

Not too tall. They top out at about 24 inches high. They are commonly used in bridal bouquets & arrangements.
