With you on the cow parsley. OH went forth with the strimmer yesterday but there's still some around. Trouble is its so pretty...

Beautiful Kathy, your deer look perfect in the setting. Good luck with the cow parsley battle.

Thankyou all, yes the deer are back in their summer home now :-)
Stera I know what you mean OH quite likes it and if it stayed in just a small area i wouldn't mind , Siris sent me a young plant of the black leaved one which is flowering now that one I love.

Oh dear, I keep whipping off the dreaded hogweed heads, dare not let them flower and seed down. The cow parsley looks so awful cut back too, those hollow stems, looks great at the start of the season with the nice fern like leaves then boom.

The wood looks lovely. Never had to deal with common Cow Parsley, but I know the Giant Hog weed can cause skin irritation. Ravens Wing Cow Parsley is well behaved, but does seed itself around.

Yes they do Dawn luckily they die back very quickly !
Oh your Ravens Wing looks gorgeous today Siris, how can I hate the green so much but that one Wow!!

Worse for self seeding is the bronze leaved Fennel. It is coming up like mustard and cress.

Oh yes I have that too!!!
At the moment here its my huge Inula 'Racemosa', great plant and I like to leave the seed heads as the goldfinches love them but if you don't get the seedlings out while they're young you never will !
