Yes, Shirley, the first few blooms are always pale green. It doesn't seem to depend on climate.

We have been away for a few days and come back to find the most perfect cream bloom ... it shines out in the gloom of the dreary grey evening ... :o)

Spritz, I have this too and was surprised to see the first bloom was green, rather than cream. Lack of warmth and sunshine perhaps? The latest flower to appear really is cream!
