They are cute little characters, Bjs.

Oh, I love him/her.

They are fun to watch Siris. We have mainly Anna's and Rufus here on the Island. They have very entertaining behaviour.

It's so, so cute! I love hummingbirds! I have so many of them in my yard. They nest in mid-to-late January in so many of the trees in my yard. I have to be careful I don't cut a branch which has a hummingbird nest.

Do they fly south for winter the same as you do for warmth and good food

Be careful about cutting those branches Delonix! We cannot trim our pyracantha bush because a robin is nesting in there.

Bjs, They stay during the winter. They are tougher than us. People feeding them and they find occasional flower and many bugs.

I accidentally cut a large Ficus craterastoma branch a few years ago in mid-January. The branch had a hummingbird nest and the two parent were flying around me because the eggs fell out. I felt so, so HORRIBLE!

Tomorrow that monster Ficus craterastoma tree is going to be cut down. It's too out of control with many aerial roots, some reaching the ground and making new trunks. I feel so bad because I love the tree! :>(( But, it's too big and fast-growing. It's almost impossible to keep it small.

I know Delonix1, sometimes we have to face these difficult decisions.

I would need a property the size of yours to let these banyan-type Ficus trees grow freely. The tree is history. It had such beautiful aerial roots and trunks from the aerial roots. I'm going to post the photos of the tree and the trunk before it was completely cut down.

I'll make some cuttings, though.
