You sort of have the pond look already Klahanie. The pathway edging seems pond edging like. The rock wall could be a nice trickle of running water.
Just no Goldfish...
Yeah,I can see a Zen like water garden. Almost there.

Actually it is quite clayish, Delonix1. What you see is little bit of mulch on top.

When I lived in The San Francisco Bay Area I had clay soil. It was really good for most plants. Clay soil hold more nutrients and water than the loose, sandy, rocky soil here.
