Just wait Amy. I stuck a 4 foot stick in the ground and it doubled in one year. It was badly damaged by deer last year...broken young branches and partly uprooted but we patched it together and it is recovering this year. Deer does not even suppose to like it (books say). It is a beautiful tree.
