I have been watching the beautiful bud develop for days. And here it is. It's hard to believe this only opened today.
What passing pollinator will be able to resist!
It's the same poppy I use for my avatar.
And now I've noticed that the edges of the petals were almost smooth last year. Isn't that odd?

The photo makes this look a bit darker than it really is. In reality it is salmon pink. Sadly, the very hot weather caused it to drop it's petals after two days. They usually last a bit longer than that. There are more buds, though.

Strange shape.
My poppy was bought as salmon pink 2 years ago, but sine that time it has been simply red, lol.

Lovely picture Ohm. I do like big poppies but I don't have them in this garden as they do spread (and flop) quite a bit. My favourite is the salmon coloured one but yours definitely comes a close second.
