Yes, this was a smaller street tree (20' or 6m or so tall). It had lower branches. My 50' (15m) Jacaranda tree in my front yard is very tall so it's difficult to get close ups on the flowers.

Some people say they have a fragrance. I never noticed it.

I have never noticed a fragrance on Jacaranda trees.
I know Markhamia lutea, Cassia leptophylla and Bauhinia x blakeana (Hong Kong Orchid tree) have a wonderful, sweet fragrance!

Great pic not seen a closeup of the flower before.when I have seen the trees the flowers were high up.
