How old is this plant? Does it keep its' leaves reliably in the winter.

Yay, love them. I lost mine in the bad winter of 2010, resisted until this year, got one for my birthday, planted in huge pot so that I can overwinter, the fragrance, hmmmm.

I love it! Mine has escaped being eaten by birds this spring, and is growing quite happily now. No flowers yet...usually July here. The scent is lovely.

Its approx 15 years old Sue at a guess about 15/20 ft tall and yes the leaves survive well , I'm glad you have another one Dawn I'd love a photo of you and John taking it in for the winter when its 20 ft tall I can imagine it sitting next to your wood burner Lol :o) Thanks Angela ,I've never had any trouble with birds Karen maybe I feed them to well , the birds I mean not the tree !

Really Siris? are you sure...

Also 15 years is rather a long time for an OAP.

hahaha Siris, I'm thinking about my age when buying too. I say to Amy, I will never see a walnut on the tree and its been planted about 14 years.

Amy, hmmm if it gets to 15 feet we might struggle to overwinter it. My old one only go to about 8 feet before the dreaded winter took it.

DD, come on, Im sure you could squeeze one in. :-)

The birds didnt get ours, I seem to to remember the snails taking a liking to it.

Dd and I saw a beaut in an Open Garden today, delightful scent, but way over 15 ft I would think.
