Having now put my 4 Pitcher plants individually in my file, trying to identify them individually. Believe this is the hardy Sarracenia flava var. flava 'North Carolina'.

I love it, this one is loving me. All the stamens have shrivelled now, must wait to see if seed develops.

Don't think I have managed to pollinate because apparently the 'unbrella' starts to turn upwards if successful. It was only an exercise!

Gg, a question:- do the flowers usually appear before the new pitchers?
16 Jun, 2016
Hi Siris
yes and no as I have the leaves that turn into pitchers grow at the same time but then the flower romps away and leaves the pitchers standing.
I will cut all mine off (flowers) soon so the energy goes into the pitchers

Thank you for that information. You were right about that 'button' that you said was probably frosted, it is doing nothing. The 2 with red streaks are producing lax pitchers, was waiting to see if they would produce any flowers before photographing.
