'Caribbean Midnight Vespers'

'Caribbean Midnight Vespers'

My darkest flower. Not impressed with its offspring, however.

Ach he doesnt have it. Never mind...I will have to enjoy it vicariously! Adding to favourites for future reference. I'll ask Simbad if she has it. :)

When you go to his site, there is listed first, single fans. Then comes a section of double fans. After that irises including some that he imports from Australia. CMV is in the double fan section. Dark flowers don't photograph very well, so his photo is not as dark as it really is.

Oh...thanks Wylie..I'll have another look. Mind you, the other photos on google dont look as beautiful as yours. These dark colours are hard to capture.

The 2 best near blacks in my garden are this and Christine Walser Hite. Both are extremely hard to photograph. CWH came from Sheila Tucker, but her website seems to have disappeared.

Hi Wylie

Sheila has stoped selling now I spoke to her just before Christmas the ones she didn't sell are going into her own garden.

Wylie just been looking at the photo you posted

21 Jun, 2013

you would think it was a different plant

17 Jun, 2016

The other was taken in full sun and with a different camera. If you look on page 13 of my photos, you can tell it was the pollen parent to (Raspberry Banana Cheesecake x Teddy Bear's Picnic) x Caribbean Midnight Vespers. It was foggy the other morning, so the sun didn't affect the colour, which stayed really well all day, even after the sun came out.
