Chamaedorea metallica blooming. Heavy Metal Palm tree.

It's a female palm, which looks very healthy and happy! I have several Chamaedorea metallica. They need to be put into deep shade here. They will get burned in even in a little full sun here.

I have never gotten seed off my plants...this is even though I have female and males plants. Not sure why.

Thanks Andy. Its about 8 years old. I had it on the porch..and not enough light to get color out of it but green.
For the last few years its been in the ground- I also was tired of watering it in a pot. Not nearly as needy in the ground.
It has more trunk then the photo looks. Still,a small palm sp.

They grow pretty slowly. I have some that are 3 1/2 feet tall and I've had them since approximately 1996. I'm surprised they're still alive. I've lost so many plants over the last two years to this damned drought. We need some literally flooding monsoonal rains to hit this summer. Almost like last year; however, a lot more. Trees are dying by the many millions all around southern California from this severe drought.
