The Trachelospermum more than makes up for the fact that the Clematis has no scent.

For me reliably so, this one I have had, mmm 15 years maybe, have another one from a layered cutting in the back garden, and also have a variegated one by the garage wall, N.W. facing, evergreen leaves turn a wonderful red colour in Autumn.

No fence, is against the garage wall, can't get to it now, a border full of plants in front. Thanks for the suggestion Gg, but you have not seen how packed my garden is!
