This came with some seedlings I bought several years ago.

Talking of unknowns, I divided the Siloam Showgirl you sent me, on receipt, as it was so big, put 1/2 in front and 1/2 in back, the two clumps developed different shaped flowers. Took up the back garden one, this week, more pointed flowers and in the roots was a label "Buzz Bomb", looked it up, probably explains the difference in form.
Ps the yellow photo is beautifully buttery colour.

That's weird I don't have Buzz Bomb!, Siloam Showgirl behaves strangely for me I split a clump a few years ago one half has small flowers as it should the others developed into a huge plant with the same flowers but double the size very weird , it was one of the first I ever bought from a local garden centre.
I love this one the flowers are really large too.

The mystery continues, life is full of surprises! It seems, in general, that the flowers of Daylilys can be very variable from year to year, and even consequetive blooms in colour and form.

Love the yellow.
Pattern types are extremely variable, even on 2 flowers on the same scape open on the same day. I just use the best of that day and sometimes chill the pollen for the next day.
