I was at Home Depot to buy a new cylinder for the screen door. I spotted this. 10$ after some mistake on price and HD said go ahead,we will sell it at that price.
I'm weak.
whoo- this photo really tanked! NO likes!. I guess a generic looking plant with generic looking green round things isn't pure excitement?..lol.

I had no idea..great,not a plant to die off in a light frost. I'm looking forward Andy to tasting them.
Did you ever try the big tropical Guavas in Hayward? Which ones? How did they taste? I might try them. Next year.

Yes, Psidium guajava grows very well in Hayward. I've seen so many large trees there and throughout the Bay Area. I used to have one in Hayward (which easily survived the 1990 Freeze) and one really tall one in Fremont, Mission San Jose. They produced a lot of fruit which I don't eat! lol! I have one large tree on the side of the house. it grow by itself.
P. guajava is super easy to grow in the Bay Area and in San Diego practically everyone has one to five trees in their yard. They grow tall here. To more than 25' tall!

They're very beautiful plants/trees. I've seen them more than 40' tall! On the grounds at The University of Santa Clara some really tall old ones grow. They're probably 30' tall.
