Tend to agree, bit pale, not enough contrast in the eye area.

I like the pattern in the eye, and it is a full eye. It does have some ruffling in the edge. I think nice year you will be glad you kept it.

Wylie, is the one to know. He has the luxury of space and obviously is 'doing' Daylilies seriously.

Experience has shown that it takes a couple of years for a daylily to develop, and that the first scape can be deceptive. The way the pattern goes up the sepals a long way earns this more "points" than if it was low or nothing.
With daylilies, there is never enough space. If my property doubled tomorrow, the next day it would be cramped again. I only keep less than 10% of the first-time blooming group, and keep reducing the others as they don't work out.
I went from trying every new type of plant that came out in catalogues to just one that is extremely varied and try new things out in winter-growing bulbs, which are the only container grown plants I have.
