I bought it last year, kept it frost free last winter as i understand it is tender

I had to google this one as I had never heard of it either. The Pacific Bulb Society webside advises giving it a support to climb on. Wiki says it is a climber but only 30" high. Both say it is tender. Thank you for sharing it with us. It is a beauty.

Sheila this one is about 30in but would not call it a climber it has no means of supporting itself needs a cane and ties

How unusual. I was going to say they remind me of Chinese lanterns & when I looked them up found that that is their common name.
