Plumeria 'Slaughter Pink'

Plumeria 'Slaughter Pink' (Plumeria 'Slaughter Pink')

These Slaughter Pink plumeria flowers were loaded with super sweetly fragrant flowers. It was a little of challenge to get this photo because so many of the flowers were at the top of the trees. Photo taken at night time zoo at the San Diego Zoo on August 9, 2016.

Ah,that's beautiful. Maybe one day I will try with some recommended easy bloomer Plumeria in the ground. Shoehorned in someplace.

Klahanie:

This photo doesn't do these trees justice. They were too high up to get a good photo, unfortunately.

Stan:

There's many varieties that grow pretty well up there.

The ones I do have are white flowers. The house and rental are white. So I would have to look for some contrasting color. Anything but white-lol.

Some of the ones recommended for up there are: Candy Stripe, Plastic Pink, California Sunset (needs a little more heat), Cancun Pink, Samoan Fluff. The red ones are not so good. They need a lot of hot, hot weather to bloom well.

What about Aztec Gold and the peach colored one who's Asian name I cant remember?

Aztec Gold or Inca Gold is really good. Penang Peach is not very easy to grow. It likes a lot of heat to produce the peach-colored flowers. I had one and it died. :>(

California Sally and India is supposedly is pretty tough.

California Sunset is one of my favorites. I had one for a long time. It was kept a little too dry during one of our winters and it dried up and died! Here the Plumerias need some winter water even though they're dormant (especially if it's hot).

Here's a pic of the P. 'California Sunset'
