This very tropical shrub is native to West Africa. It has gigantic almost 2' (61cm) long leaves and beautiful light violet flowers on a long spike. This plant was in the ground for many years; however, it almost died from the extreme drought. Now it's in a pot. Photo taken on Sept. 3, 2016.
