Red Delicious Apples

Red Delicious Apples

Red Delicious and Golden delicious apples left on the tree until the end of September.
Red Delicious used to be the most popular variety in the past but other apples are growing in popularity, such as 'Fuji' and 'Gala'. I personally do not care for Red Delicious apples and we will juice them. We inherited the tree (was planted probably in late 60s or early 70s.)

Come over for glass of home made apple juice Bathgate.
Although I am not fan of these apples I like the juice and apple sauce for pork dinner. They look good this year. So do Golden delicious and Spartans. I freeze some for apple pie. Spartans are very juicy and flavourful.

That is funny Gg. I am not aware of any of these. Which one you like the best.

I wish I had the room to grow some more varieties the Sunset was a leaving present so had little choice but it has done realy well but flowers very early so any late frost and I am lucky to have one or two apples.

Thank you for the invite. I would love to come. Golden Delicious makes outstanding apple pie.

Don't you feel blessed? I just love the feeling of bounty when the trees are heavy with fruit. I've had to fight off rooks and bluejays this year. everybody loves apples..and the deer come to browse the twigs as well as the fruit. Last year I had a blackbear cub munching the crabapples and in years passed the piggies came to browse the falls. One of my fave apple dishes is Apple Crumble with a handfull of raisins and walnuts thrown in for good measure! :-)

I do feel blessed Lori and we have enough apples on our trees for everybody, Jays, deer, squirrels, racoons even bears (who already uprooted one of the apple trees)
I do not mind to share but I am mad when birds eat all my small fruit such as blueberries, gooseberries, grapes and such. Interestingly, they are not fond of red current.

The tree looks very attractive with its fruit on. Like you I do not care for Red Delicious but you can always use apples in some way & I'm sure the juice is lovely.
