Get in and pull it out lol. I do have aquatic roundup which is totally safe for wildlife and waterways but plants still has to be removed when dead. Next month the waders will be donned, sigh, stinky job and reeds need pulling up too.

I try to clean out one of my three ponds every third year. Next year I must do my biggest pond, the variegated Iris pseudocorus is gradually taking over and the Double Marsh Marigold has slipped off the shelf. As you say a stinky job.

As you probably know, my sons have bought a country property in Sweden. They have two ponds and I hope to ask you for advice next year when the Land Registery have OK'd the devision of the land. There is thirty acres and John and Mike have three plus the buildings. Roland (the buyer) has sold the three acres to the boys and hopes to give half of the remaining land to his son. Roland will clear the trees round the ponds and I have friends willing to give me plants from their ponds and lakes. I look forward to discussing the project with you. :0)

Siris, it's not the nicest of jobs and plants in water seem to grow at a tremendous speed but pond clearing has to done, doesn't it. Wear clothes I can throw in the bin after.
Hi Linda, you have a very exciting project. Ask away, it will be a pleasure, i have lived and learnt. I will pm you with a few questions?
