Wow Dawn...will have to check ours out later if it stops raining...our is growing fast it's about 15 years old I think. We have had to move a hedge and redirect the path to give it space....I keep nipping off the lower branches when OH isn't looking..

Hi Sandra, yes, keep checking. We remove the lower branches too, lethal aren't they, so spikey.

We 're thinking about getting one of these to replace a very manky plum , Rob likes them and it's not often he gets to pick things for the garden lol.

They are fascinating trees......have always admired them, there used to be several on my way to school, when I was in the infants, I used to stop are stare at them, even then I was in to unusual trees and shrubs..

I remember seeing one on a lane when I was a child, I think I was amazed by them when my Dad told me why they were called a monkey puzzle :-)

There's a really huge one near a B and B were we often stay when we visit York , love to go there near Christmas, it has a monkey ( not real lol) swinging from it and a poem on a plaque underneath wish I could remember it always makes me smile :-)
