A flower on my Cobea scandens/cup and saucer vine has finally opened today and is a sort of cream with lilac tinge. The seeds were saved from last year from Cobea scandens 'Violet' but must not come true to seed. I've waited weeks looking at the buds that I don't care what colour it is. Quite a few more to come so hopefully might get a violet one.

Gosh, haven't seen one of these in years. My mum grew it once and I remember her not only loving the plant but also the common name. She was very pleased with herself as she hadn't grown things before and couldn't wait to show me. She is long gone but you brought back a lovely memory. Thank you :-)

Thanks all. It's outside and I have to say, the leaves are looking a bit frizzled, sun or cold, I'm not sure. I didn't know it should be inside, I grew it outside last year.
I saw it this morning, very cold, and it seems bigger and changing colour.
If it is tender perennial Siris, I might put it in the greenhouse. There are three plants in a large pot with wigwam of canes. There are more flower buds but this cold will finish them off, it's not doing me much good either!

I just looked it up Siris. Perennial in it's Native Mexico but can be overwintered here. Needs minimum 5 degrees (night time temperature). Got to give it a try and I'm going to start seed earlier.
