What a bonus in October....

There have been a few trying to open but this is the only one that opened fully :-)

Frequently, the ones that rebloom in the cooler fall are also the first to open in the spring earlier than the others. Pico Piquinho has put up another scape, and it is also one of the first to bloom in the spring.
I finally got a scape on a first year seedling and it will give an indication of what to expect from Dragonfly Dawn.

I actually meant your own pollinated seed. Not that it detracts from its beauty or the commitment to germinate and grow from seed. Got to have a lot of potential parents to produce something different. Very pretty markings.

None of my crosses have been particularly good so far lol .
Wylie knows I love the appliqué throats and did quite a few crosses for me from his :-), this one is really good in that it flowered within two years and then rebloomed .

It is Simbad's: The rules are that it belongs to whoever gets it to bloom first. I bought the seed of both parents, then crossed them, and gave the seed to her, and she has all rights with it, including naming it anything she wants. I have seen where top hybridizers buy (and sell) seed on the Lily Auction. It is also why I refer to one plant as Eder sdlg 0084. It is the best way to get genes without spending a fortune on plants.

Interesting, but none of the fun of being a pollinator. Lol.
