What a treat Bathgate to have such a beautiful flower blooming spring and fall.

Is this its second flowering?

yes, they bloom perfusely in Spring, and again in Autumn. They are quite reliable - 2nd year in a row they've done this. They have a very pleasant scent as well.

Siris sent me a young one last year but it hasn't flowered yet. Looking forward to it!

Be sure the rhizome is exposed to the sun.

I did my best but the cosmos I planted turned out to be the tall ones and shaded the irises rather. Better luck next year I hope.
