Acers in "our" Garden center parking --- for Sheila.

Acers in "our" Garden center parking --- for Sheila.

All for sale ....looks almost gaudy (overwhelming), when they are packed as this all together, does not it?

Thank you Klahanie . . . what an amazing display. So tempting at this time of year!

It is. I liked the orange one...but way too much money to spend on a mature tree.
The little standard in middle of the picture was actually cute crab apple with tiny yellow fruit.

. . and if this is just the car park, how wonderful the main garden centre must be :)

It is a decent GC Sheila . They do have a good selection of trees.

I have now "returned the compliment" and published a short blog for you, Klahanie, with our favourite Acer and the autumn colours in the garden today :)

Thank you Feverfew and nice to "see" you again.
They sure know how to get customers attention, don't they?

Gosh its stunning ,I often wonder how you could possibly explain the different colours to someone who couldn't see ?

23 Oct, 2016

That's an interesting comment, Amy. It would be OK to try that for someone who's lost their sight after having been able to see, but I guess to someone blind from birth, colours wouldn't have any meaning - not sure?

Have a look at Tommy Edison (Huffington Post) to hear how people explain colours to him. Tommy has been blind from birth and was told, amongst other things, that touching things would help him to remember colours. For example, leaves for green (mostly!) and blue for the ocean, heat for red.

Interesting. I cannot imagine it would raise the same feeling and sensation (even emotion) as to us, "able to see people ".
