My Brazilian Red Cloak is flowering. It's the only one of the many in the front yard that's blooming pretty well. It's because of the horrible drought that most haven't flowered well the last couple of years. This shrub is 12' (3.7m) tall. Photo taken Nov. 1, 2016.

Not sure why the pics is going sideways. It's actually irritating! It wasn't taken that way.

This is one of several I have in my front yard. The mother plant has a big trunk. I originally got the mother plant in 1995.
This is a pic of my mother plant which you commented on in 2008.

That's funny! :>))
Typically, it's a very easy shrub to grow and bloom; however, the historic, extreme drought experienced here has been relentless. So many trees and plants are dying in Southern California. I've lost many plants over the last couple of years because of the this HORRIBLE DROUGHT! It's also because we've had extremely hot and dry weather during winter. It's still very hot. It's going to between 82 - 95ºF (28 - 35ºC) weather over the next two weeks and dry.
