We have a big problem with this plant, every time we plant it in the border, it gets eaten to pieces, it has been rescued 3 times now.....I think it needs to be really established before we put it out again......

Very attractive plant DD. If you kept it in a large pot, and put slug barriers round, would that help?

Dotty, do you think I can just keep/grow my newly bought acanthus rue ledan in a big pot so I can contain it?

Jean I don't see why not, ours is still in a pot, but it is now enormous!!..I do not know the variety, will Google it, oh yes that's a really lovely one, I see Sarah Raven is selling it...if you do not want it to spread, that's the thing to do.......
