Pretty much the original flora. Redwoods once were native to the canyons here. Hard to believe.

There are some taller downtown by the Library Terra. The whole of downtown was once a hacienda planted with large tree species. Bunya Bunya's Redwoods,Magnolia's..whatever was around in 1890 or so.

Hi Stan! This is a link to a KCET video of an ancient sycamore, El Aliso, in L.A. I was surprised as I thought the sycamore was an eastern tree.

Thanks Lori- I love them native Sycamores. White bark, bonsai like branching..yellow color in the fall. I should have planted one years ago if I knew then.
