Kalanchoe species

A very pretty flower.....

Brings some memories from Mexico couple of years ago. We had a yard full of Kalanchoe delagoensis ...same type of flower but very tall stem. They seeded very readily .....no wonder that it is called "Mother of thousands". they grew from every crevice there was.
Almost as dandelions here :-)
The one in your picture looks more like ground cover.?

Kalanchoe delagoensis grow wild everywhere here, also. They flower profusely in winter. There's so many Kalanchoe species (and varieties) which grow here, it's difficult to id them. I have about 5 species. I love my tall Kalanchoe beharensis, it's 6' (2m) tall. However, it can grow to more than 20' (6m). Wikipedia says K. beharensis grows to 5' (1.5m) tall...I say: Yeah right!! Not in San Diego. LOL!

Thank you Delonix1. I have to giggle when I look at the rhodo's descriptions in books or on internet. Most my older rhododendrons I have are 9' , 10' even 12' but the books say max height 6'. Time to replant few for the next generation of occupants :-)

I know it's amazing how much bigger plants, trees and shrubs can grow if they get the right conditions.

Every book and all information I've ever read on the internet about velvet plant (Gynura aurantiaca) says they only grow from 1 - 3 ft (30cm - 92cm tall). My plant is more than 6' (2m) tall! It grew from 8" (20cm) to over 6' (2m) just this year, when I transplanted it into a larger pot.

I think that's a Cotyledon- Pigs Ears types. They are starting to bloom here. My pink Mother of Thousands has tiny bell blooms on it. The Kalanchoe's I have learned can look sometimes like nothing special- you see them small and for sale at HD...then it turns out the blooms are spectacular.
If you have the room to use them as filler,great little succulents. The smaller sp. that is.

Yes, you're correct! I think it's Cotyledon orbiculata. For some reason I always forget the name of this common plant.
