Mango after coldest weather of the year.

Mango after coldest weather of the year.

Again,a few leafs singed. Never covered as only one night reached 1C. Now,its how does it hold up to HEAVY rains? Always something new to worry about in gardening.

No,I would accept that every year as standard.
I changed the title too. I have a deep cold..must have been why I called it record cold when it was not close to that.
1C is cold but not the -8C that IS the all time coldest morn here.
What a typo!

Yes that's pretty chill even for here. Lowest I can remember here was-10 and we lost quite a bit of stuff that year. So far this winter we've had a thin layer of ice on the pond once and it lasted a day.

Let's hope no more damage this winter Stan. Hope your cold gets better soon.

I thought the coldest temp ever recorded in Hayward was 20 degrees F (-6 degrees C) in 1972 and 1990. I remember both. Of course, the December 1990 was the worst freeze ever recorded (in Hayward) and for most of Northern California. That's extremely rare, also.

Mango trees are pretty tough. It should come back pretty quickly in spring.
