These Amaryllis bulbs are the 1st of 2017 to start to flower on our kitchen windowsill.

I don't blame you for getting rid of them! I think I would have done the same!
Sorry to hear they turned out bad.
I've had to repot a few of my Amaryllis today as the compost was too wet - even though I keep harping on about not leaving them in saturated compost! I put them in the same pots just with fresh compost that I'd added 50% of vermiculite to which will give added drainage while at the same time conserving sufficient moisture to keep the bulbs happy.

Looking good Balcony. All the bulbs I bought last year have come to nothing. Then I found some white furry stuff on them with some small creatures similar to white woodlice. Luckily they had been nowhere near anything else so I'm afraid they went in the bin. I know I should have had a go to get rid of the bugs but I didn't want anything else infested so they had to go.
